What STD testing costs in Dubai
Pricing in this category is rarely published, which makes comparison harder than it should be. Here is ours in full, and an honest account of what actually drives the number.

What actually drives the price
Three things, and none of them is brand.
Whether blood is involved. A urine PCR panel is a single sample processed by one method. Add HIV, syphilis and hepatitis and you have added a blood draw and a different set of assays, which is why panels covering both cost more than either alone.
How many targets the panel runs. Each additional organism is genuine laboratory work, though the cost per target falls as panels get larger — which is why a 32-marker screen is not eight times the price of a 4-marker one.
Whether a specialist assay is involved. The quantitative HIV RNA test is priced above the standard screen because it is a more involved procedure with a longer turnaround, not because it is a premium version of it.
How that compares in Dubai
Market pricing is wide and not standardised. Based on publicly listed prices from a range of Dubai providers, small panels of around seven targets commonly run AED 450–650, mid-size panels AED 750–900, larger ones AED 950–1,300, and early-detection HIV testing AED 1,100–1,200. Our full breakdown is in what testing costs in Dubai.
The more useful comparison is not the headline figure but what is bundled into it. A consultation charged separately, a collection fee added at the door, or a panel that turns out to exclude the blood-borne group all change the real cost after the fact.
Paying for more than you need
Larger panels get their headline numbers from what might be called the long tail — herpes, candida species, gardnerella, CMV and similar. Several of those organisms are commonly present without causing disease, and a positive result can prompt anxiety and further appointments without changing treatment.
For most people with a specific concern, a panel covering the bacterial core plus the blood-borne group answers nearly all of it. Scale up when there are symptoms that are not explained, or when you specifically want the wider picture. What panel sizes actually mean sets this out properly.
What is included, and what is not
Included in every price: the test itself, laboratory processing, results issued directly to you, and a doctor consultation to discuss them. Home collection is included from AED 449 upwards.
Not included, because it is not ours to provide: treatment. Fio is a booking platform, not a clinic. If a result needs acting on, the laboratory’s doctor discusses it with you and can refer you onward.
Paying
Payment is taken online when you book, by card or in instalments through Tabby on screens from AED 449. There is nothing to pay on the day. Your bank statement shows a neutral company name — never the test.
Fio Health is a confidential health-screening booking platform in Dubai. We arrange your test with an accredited partner laboratory — home collection or lab visit — and results come to you directly from them, usually within 24 hours. No referral, and every price published before you book.
